The Twins starting rotation continues to look awful in the early season games. Nolacso, the Twin's ace, gave up 5 runs and 7 hits in just 4 innings yesterday. His ERA now stands at 9.00 for the season.
Luckily, the Twins offense has decided to score a boatload of runs the last few days. I think they've scored more in the last four games than they did in all the spring training games combined.
Though the sudden unexpected offense is a pleasant surprise, the inadequate starting pitching is starting to wear on me.
Chris Colabello now LEADS the AL in RBI. Talk about pleasant surprises.
The home opener is this afternoon at Target Field.
Their record is a 3-3.
I'll take it.

Gardy Gets 1000th Win
Only 10 managers in baseball history have gotten 1,000 wins with one team. The Twins now have two of those ten. I would list the second as a trivia question, but we all know It's Tom Kelly.
Gardy took out Gibson yesterday after FIVE innings. If he had done that a day earlier with Mike Pelfrey he might have gotten that win a little earlier.
Regardless, the Twins are now 2-3 on the season, and right now don't look as bad as they did.
There's still plenty of season to go, though.
Go Twins!

Twenty Trillion Dollar Dream Is Over
It looks like the twenty trillion dollar bill will be going back in vault. With only three games to pick in the tournament, everybody, every single entrant picked Florida to win last night in the first game. As a result we have no winner.
Just like the state of Florida.

Wolves Upset Heat in Miami
I tuned in late to this one and was pleaasntly surprised by the outcome. It took two extra overtime periods, and seeming hopelessness a couple of times, but in the end, Kevin Love and company did the unthinkable, they beat LeBron James and his Miami Heat on their home floor.
Miami fans appeared stunned.
It was just enough to show NBA viewers that the Wolves really have improved this season. I look at it as the Wolves only playoff game this season. They came, they saw, they conquered. Yes, Miami was without the services of Dwyane Wade last night, but the Wolves have been hamstrung by injuries all season as well.
Great game.
In other Minnesota sports news. Mike Pelfrey looked GREAT for 5 innings yesterday, but like last year, Gardy left him in to pitch the 6th.
The Twins went on to lose 7-2. There was literally no offense after the second for the Twins.
Suggested motto for the Twins this year?
Eat
Sleep
Accept Defeat
Repeat

We're 66th!
The Gophers pulled it off last night. They won the also-ran tournament known as the NIT. They weren't good enough to be invited to the big dance known as March Madness, but they did win the junior high prom.
Life is Golden.
It truly is.

Twenty Trillion Dollar Challenge Heating Up
It started out slowly, but by last night, the amount of entries had actually doubled!
If you haven't registered your predictions yet, you have until midnight tonight (CST) to enter. After that, all predictions will be ignored.
Warren Buffett's challenge for his paltry billion dollars had the odds of a correct ballot being at 10 quadrillion to one. My contest is more like 8-1 (6-1?), but I'm not going to take the time to figure it out. Too much math.
Don't pass up your chance of being the first Twenty TRILLION Dollar Challenge winner in history!
See earlier blog for details.
