Just to show you how little these rankings really mean, the Vikings actually dropped a spot (from fourth to fifth) in last weeks's poll. That they are number one now is actually a little surprising, even if they are the only undefeated team left in the league.
At least it seems that media experts are starting to appreciate what the Vikings have accomplished thus far this season. The Patriots, with Tom Brady back, moved up from number 4 to number 2 this week.
Does any of this matter? Nope. At the end of the season, the best team will have all of its members wearing rings. The polls will be forgotten.
