Olympic Pole Dancing

I saw an article yesterday and I originally thought it was a joke.

Pole dancing started out in bars and strip clubs. It is now a sport, and it's come so far, so fast that it's actually been added to a list of sports being considered for future Olympic games.

Pole dancing.

Pole dancing?

It won't be a sport to watch for in the next Summer Olympic Games coming up in three years, but a movement is afoot to get it added by the 2020 games.

It may never happen, but knowing that it's even being considered is kind of surreal. And I wonder if their will be both a men and women's division.

USA! USA! USA!

    1. I think the MAIN reason that bodybuilding will never be an Olympic sport is:

      Drug testing.

The Olympics test all competitors for HGH and steroid use, as well as at least another dozen "supplements" that all great bodybuilders use regularly (or at least occasionally.)

Even many of the 'Naturals" get away with certain help from drugs that would clearly disqualify someone in Olympic competition.

The top 1000 bodybuilders in the world wouldn't be able to compete because of drug testing. Those who are left wouldn't look like bodybuilders.

The Weiders created an incredible event. They left a lot of baggage behind as a result, though.

You cover the Olympia, you know this way better than I do.

Every once in a while I see a guy like Ryback in WWE and I wonder how he managed to look like that without "extra help."

Vince has been doing regular testing in WWE for several years now. Guys like Randy Orton and Rey Mysterio have been caught on multiple occasions and suspended as a result. They are one strike away from being fired. Vince takes the testing seriously. Ryback is an anomaly (or just very good at cheating.) If Lesnar, Cena, and Batista in their prime really were/are clean I would have hope that true "natural bodybuilding" could actually exist

I really would like to see what the best bodybuilders would look like without the banned substances,(where all drug testing is allowed and in depth.)

If the Olympics could manage that, I think it would be incredible. But I think most fans of bodybuilding would be disappointed in all of the competitors. They wouldn't look as good as most would hope.
