Patriots 3rd-String Quarterback Has Injury

Jacoby Brisset needs surgery on his right thumb to fix a torn ligament. No one knows, at this point, when that surgery will happen. The Patriots are being as secretive as ever. Jimmy Garoppolo, their second-string quarterback is "making progress" on his shoulder injury, injured week one. No one knows if he'll be ready by next week's game either, or if he'll need surgery. As usual, the Patriots aren't saying.

Brady has one more game of waiting, either way.

Julian Edelman, the Patriots star receiver, played quarterback at Kent State. Most assume he's next on the depth charts for the Patriots. The Patriots, when asked, aren't saying.

I'm starting to like Belichick more and more.
