Gibson?

It wasn't all Kyle's fault last night. Only three of his runs were earned. I stopped watching in the fifth when the Twins still had a 3-2 lead.

I sure called that one right.

At KC this weekend. We'll see how that goes...

Mejia! Kepler!

Adlaberto is starting to look like a solid addition to the Twins' starting rotation. The combination of Santana, Berrios, and Mejia MAY make the Twins a threat for a playoff run. Over half a season to go, so I don't want to start counting unhatched chickens just yet, but the season is turning out to be a lot more fun than I anticipated.

Go Twins!!

Twins Kicked

I tried watching, but with all the rain delays, I gave up.

Exclamation Points!!!!!

Santana!
Bullpen!
Shutout!
Sweep!
Rosario!
Castro!
First Place!

Sunday, June 25, 2017

Dozier! Bullpen! Gimenez!

One-half game back!!

Who would have thunk it, especially after LAST weekend...

...AND with Gibson pitching and giving up 4 hits (including a homerun) and 4 walks in 4 innings of work.

Is a sweep possible? Santana gets the nod today so...maybe!!!

Wolves Trade For Jimmy Butler

On paper, this seems like an incredible deal for the Wolves. Another NBA superstar is headed our way.

But this is the Wolves we're talking about. No matter how good things look for them, it never works out.

I'm going to take a wait and see approach instead of getting excited.

One good playoff run in their entire history has brought me to this. I've learned.

Mejia! Bullpen!?!

The Twins got a great performance from the pitching STAFF last night. Usually if Santana or Berrios aren't involved in a game I could not say that.

But, it's true and it was a shutout, AND it was against Cleveland.

This weekend's series already exceeded last weekend's. Let's see if the Twins can sneak in a couple of more wins quick.

Optimistic? No.

Hopeful? Why not?

Turley

The Twins said we got Nik Turley to be one of our regular starters.  His ERA is over 16 after three starts, and I'm thinking they may be re-thinking that assessment.

What do you think?

Thursday, June 22, 2017

Berrios! Sano!

Jose Berrios IS the Twins' best starter. Until Ervin Santana figures out what he's doing wrong, it'll probably be that way for awhile.

And Sano can hit the long ball.

Cleveland won too, unfortunately.

Early game today. I'll see if I can remember to watch it.

Wednesday, June 21, 2017

Vargas! Sano!

With Santana still in a funk that more closely resembles Gibson pitching, the Twins relied on their two big men to end their losing streak at home last night. Cleveland lost at last, too.

1 1/2 games out is sure better than 2 1/2.

Cleveland On A Roll

The Twins, on the other hand, are rolling down hill fast.

Twins Swept

In a four game series.

At home.

Now in second.

Two games out.

As weekends go for Minnesota sports fans, I'd still say this is slightly above average...

Twins?

Going into Friday's game the Twins had a full two game lead over their division rival the Cleveland *nd**ns. (Politically correct, non-offensive name for a the team also commonly known as the Tr*b*).

Anyway, Twins fan discovered something far worse than losing a 16 inning game that lasted 6 hours a couple of weeks ago. That's losing a rain-delayed double header against a team you can't even spell completely without getting in trouble.

I hate the Cleveland *nd**ns. Not because they have a native American nickname, but because they are better than the Twins.

Come to think of it, I'm a biological twin myself, I should be offended that the Minnesota baseball team appropriated what I am to name their team after  a people group I am proud to represent.

Go Tw*ns! Beat those bl**ping *nd**ns!

Twins

I'd like to say that Nik Turley doesn't even resemble a major league pitcher. The problem with that is that he does resemble Kyle Gibson.

sigh

Friday, June 16, 2017

Berrios! Gimenez!

Back to exclamation points.

I forgot the game was on yesterday afternoon until the fifth.

I decided to watch the replay at 8 p.m. instead and just watched the first 2 1/2 innings after seeing in the boxscore that's where everything good happened.

Big Cleveland series this weekend. Hopes aren't high, but hoping to be surprised...

Twins

So, what happens when Ervin Santana does his best Kyle Gibson impression early and the Twins don't score three touchdowns?

Let's talk Floyd Mayweather/ Conor McGregor instead. It will be the biggest pay-per-view of all-time. Both fighters are going to make more money off this one fight than any fight in history. AND, since it's boxing, Mayweather should win easily, early.

I'm not going to waste my money on it. I'll let others do that.

But it's going to get more hype than any sporting event this year.

And it will be about as interesting as the Warriors/Cavs NBA finals.

Not much of a contest.

Of course I'm rooting for McGregor. There's always a puncher's chance...

Twins Kick!

If they just hadn't missed that extra point...
20 runs. 28 hits. THREE homeruns by Rosario.

And Gibson was awful.

Not that it mattered. Last night, it was all about the Twins offense.

Santana starts today.

Twins Kicked

Giving up two touchdowns in a game isn't bad if you're the Vikings. When you're playing baseball... well that's a whole 'nother story.

No Exclamation Points

My new way of watching Twins games paid off big-time yesterday. I ignore the beginning, watch the middle innings, and IF the Twins are in a close game, I stop watching before the middle of the seventh. That way if the bullpen collapses I don't have to watch it happen and I can still enjoy around an hour of good Twins baseball.

Yes, the last three inning were horrible. No, I didn't see them.

All is still right with the world.

Berrios! Vargas! Dozier!

I'm going to run out of exclamation points soon if this keeps up.

It was fun actually WATCHING a game yesterday rather than reading about it this morning.

Go Twins!!!

Saturday, June 10, 2017

Santana!

Santana: No runs, 4 hits, 1 walk, 9 innings

Santana: 3 RBI

Twins win 4-0.

Oh Yeah!  (Macho Man voice)

Friday, June 9, 2017

Kyle Gibson!

Kyle Gibson has been a bit of a surprise after his latest recall. He's been...how shall I say this...good. Last night he gave up just one run through seven innings, AND the Twins won 2-1.

Again I missed everything. West coast games don't you know. But reading about the game was actually fun this morning.

Go Gibson. Go Twins!!

Twins Lose Horribly

Golden State took a commanding 3-0 series lead against the Cavs last night.

Typical sports night.

Wednesday, June 7, 2017

Twins Lose

If you're going to lose, lose big and do it against one of the best pitchers in baseball.

Let's talk Scooter Gennet instead. 5 Hits, including 4 home runs, and 10 RBI, all in just a single game yesterday, as the Reds pounded the Cardinals 13-1.

No player has done all those things in the same day before. The best single day at the plate by anyone, ever.

Okay, I still like baseball, and it's link to the past gives this historic performance meaning.

Perspective counts.

Gotham

I didn't watch any sports last night with the Twins having the day off, instead I watched the two hour season finale of Gotham.

Best Batman movie ever.

It's too bad only three million people watch this show every week.

I have no idea how you get people to spend a billion dollars on the latest Fast and Furious movie and not watch something like Gotham for free.

Their loss, I guess.

Bubble Gum Blowout

Sano!

Okay, the Astros series was awful last week, but taking three out of four this weekend from the Angels was pretty sweet.

AND...we're still in first two full months into the season!!!

Go Twins!

Pujols Hits Number 600

It was a grand slam.

Against the Twins.

The final was 7-2.

sigh

Mauer Power!

Joe Mauer is having a better year this season. Last night he teamed with Kepler and Grossman, all of them hitting 2-run homers in a nice rout of the Angels.

I missed most of it, in bed early. My California brother seems to be enjoying the games, though!

Friday, June 2, 2017

Golden State

The Warriors SHOULD win this series. BUT they should have won last year and didn't. I watched about a quarter before switching over to the Twins game.

GOLDEN STATE! GOLDEN STATE! GOLDEN STATE!

Twins WIN!!

A triple play and three runs in the top of the ninth.

Of course I was in bed before the bottom of the second.

I hate west coast games...
