Fielder Now a Ranger

Texas and Detroit traded superstars yesterday with Detroit trading one of the biggest, first baseman Prince Fielder, to the Rangers. In exchange, Texas sent over the not quite as big a name, second baseman Ian Kinsler. Detroit gave Texas $30 in cash as well, to help pay what is left of Fielder's enormous salary.

Detroit frees up some salary cap issues while it allows the Tigers to move their biggest superstar, Miguel Cabrera back to first to make room for top prospect Nick Castellanos at third.

Texas needed left handed power.

A good trade for both clubs.

We're still waiting for blockbuster news from the Twins...
