Phil Hughes is now a Twin. And he will be for three years. I can't say I dislike the move, but Hughes developed shoulder trouble in 2011, and though still relatively young, his last two years of pitching made him look a lot like our CURRENT Twins pitchers.
Yankee stadium was rough on him. He gave up LOTS of home runs there. It's possible that the more pitcher-friendly Target Field will end up being just what the doctor ordered for both him and the Twins. And that his shoulder is healed.
The Twins have committed a lot of money to two potentially good pitching arms for this upcoming season. Let's hope both prove an improvement over guys like Worley, Correia, and Pelfrey from last year.
Still optimistic. And am happy to see that Twins management is putting their money where their mouth is.
