Finally!

The Twins had another poor pitching start, this time by Hughes (5 runs in 5 innings), but Rosario just missed getting the cycle (he was robbed of a single late), and Dozier and Hicks both homered as well.

The offense was finally good enough to make up for poor starting pitching. They are still worth watching, but even with KC's loss, they are way too far back in the division. And even a chance at one of two wildcard spots is going to get tougher. They still have the second spot as of right now.

Still hoping, still caring, but with less enthusiasm.

The Twins STILL are saying they want to make a trade (probably for a shortstop and some bullpen help) by the trade deadline at noon today, I just don't want them to get rid of a GOOD prospect for half a year's rental. I don't think any trade will make us good enough to compete with the best teams this year, and I'd like us to take a longer view on getting better gradually.

We'll see what they have up their sleeves by noon today.

I saw the Astros picked up former Twin's centerfielder Carlos Gomez yesterday. They're serious about winning it all THIS year. Go Astros!
