Pitching

To tell you the truth, I'm absolutely stunned by the Twins starting rotation this year, but oddly enough, it seems that nearly every team has a great staff of starters this year.

Doing some research, I've discovered that from 1904 until 1954, teams that had their batters struck out a total of 15 times or more in a game WON the game anyway total of 14 times.

This season alone, that has already happened 15 times! You see, the other team also had a great starter, and they managed to pull out a close score win. That tells me there's an awful lot of great starting pitching in the major leagues this season. More than any other time in our lifetimes.

So when guys like Bryce Harper and Mike Trout are hitting the ball out of parks at a nice clip, it also tells me guys like Trout and Harper are better than home run hitters from previous eras.

Baseball is a mind-boggling precise stat game. What's happening this season is absolutely off the charts in so many ways. The Twins are part of that.

I'm looking forward to seeing if they can continue to impress us.
