Twins Sweep Double Header

It was cold. The first pitch was below freezing, the coldest first pitch in Minnesota history. And though Mike Pelfrey was horrible once more (his ERA now hovering around 8.00) the Twins overcame some major difficulties by Toronto pitching being even worse.

EIGHT walks gave the Twins the lead in the eighth inning of the second game and Kyle Gibson's superb start gave the Twins their win in the first game.

That's the first series win the Twins have had against Toronto in 16 tries.

Chris Colabello now has 19 RBI in the young season. If the Twins would have had their way, Colabello would be playing in South Korea this season. Colabello resisted the idea and took less money for a chance at a roster spot HERE. Did I mention that he's fourth in the league in batting too?

The Twins are now above .500 for the first time this season at 8-7. 1/2 game out of FIRST place.

I have no idea how long they'll keep scoring all of these runs, but I do know with the spotty starting rotation that they need all the runs they can get.

Go Twins! They are still very much worth our time.
