This is the first time I've seen Jake Arrieta pitch. The last 20 games or so he has been the very best pitcher in baseball, and last night he looked every bit as good as his hype. In a league that boasts Clayton Kershaw and Zack Greinke as well, I can see why everyone is having a hard time picking a definite Cy Young Award winner.
As usual, I hate that the Pirates only get a "one and done" playoff scenario. They had the second most wins in all of baseball with 98. They deserved more than just one playoff game after that kind of season.
They just did.
