Two In A Row

Joe Mauer is hot. His singles have now at times turned into doubles and home runs and he's hitting when guys are on base and in scoring position.

In short, he no longer looks like the Joe Mauer from the last season and a half. He even made a great catch last night.

The Twins bullpen is still clicking on all cylinders as well. They pitched another 5 2/3 shutout innings last night.

At the same time, the LENGTH of the game was interminable. The long pitch counts in the first two or three innings made the game almost impossible to watch. The game lasted 3 hours and 43 minutes and only went 9 innings.

Plouffe extended his hitting streak to 15 as well. Liriano, who has been on a role of his own, is scheduled to pitch tonight.
