Great Scott! Diamond Sparkles

Three hits in seven shutout innings. That was a nice outing.

He probably could have pitched the whole game but the Twins took him out early since he's still recovering from elbow surgery. It seems that the Twins have a lot of those guys in the starting rotation.

It was also great seeing Doumit get his first homerun of the season. It's taken surprisingly long. He's now on a pace for just seven this season, so hopefully that pace will pick up with the weather getting nicer.

No complaints. It was a great game and Twins won it the old-fashioned way. They earned it. I'm still not sure why the Twins have two lefties starting back to back in the rotation. That's just odd on the face of it. Boston, used to seeing a lefty last night, is scheduled to see another in Hernadez tonight. I'm hoping that Gardy changes that rotation up in the near future.

An incredible catch in foul territory last night took out two Red Sox in one play. The third baseman (Ross Middlebrooks) made the great sliding catch but the their catcher, David Ross, trying to make the same catch, slid into him HARD. Both players ended up leaving the game before it was over.

David Ortiz is on fire. He now has a 27-game hitting streak after a leadoff single in the second. He's batting over .400 on the season.

The Twins are still worth watching.
