It Could Be Worse

The Twins had a TEN game losing streak and yet they are still just 7.5 games back in the A.L. Central.

Worse? The Angels are currently riding a SEVEN game winning streak and yet they find themselves a full 10 games back of division leading Texas.

And Seattle and Houston both TRAIL the Angels. Houston is 18 games back in their division. 18 games.

Toronto is 10 games back and many thought they were the division FAVORITES this season.

Over in the N.L the Mets are 12 back. Miami, in the same dvision, is 17.5 games out of first.

Milwaukee is 11.5 back and the Cubs are 13 games back in the same division.

Yes, it could be a lot worse. Detroit has one of the best pitching staffs in all of baseball. They also have Cabrera and Fielder, and yet somehow they are only SEVEN games over .500.

I repeat. The Twins are most fortunate to be in the division they are in. A ten-game losing streak in this division is just a minor setback. In the immortal words of Monty Python, "It's just a flesh wound."
