Tigers Lose

Justin Verlander looked very human last night as he left the game in the third inning against Texas. He's only 4-4 on the year, and as long as HE is having an average year, the Twins still have some hope of contending.

The cool thing is that while the Twins have lost two straight, and are only 5-5 in their last 10 games, they are still only 3 games back in the division, and they are only TWO behind Detroit.

The division has lost a lot of it's "luster" the last week and a half.

Of course, Worley pitches tonight against Boston, so it's not like I'm optimistic or anything. Here's hoping Mauer and Morneau keep whacking the ball all over the park. At this point, they are our best chance to contend. Bucholz (6-0) is going for Boston, but we knocked him around pretty good last week. That was the game where we had a 6-0 lead and then lost 9-6 when other half of our "dynamic duds" Mike Pelfrey went one inning too long.
