Kluwe Given the Boot

In a totally expected move, the best Vikings punter of all-time was given the boot yesterday after seven very good seasons.

Most say it was because he had a big mouth. I'm sure that was part of it. It wasn't just that he expressed his opinion, he always did it in such a way that most people were turned off by the attitude that went with it.

But he also managed to have a lot of his kicks ran back because, as strong as that right leg of his is, he missed the corner more often than most players in his position should.

The Vikings drafted another punter for a reason this year. This was the reason.

Kluwe says he wants to punt another four or five seasons if a team will give him a chance. We'll see if there are any takers.

In other Vikings news:

The Vikings elected NOT to sign Cris Carter's son after a tryout this weekend.  I guess they felt he just wasn't good enough.
