Game One

The Royals silenced Toronto's Big Three last night.

Josh Donaldson, Jose Batista, and Edwin Encarnacion averaged 40 homeruns each this season. They also averaged 116 RBI each.

Last night? Zip.

Edison Volquez' performance against the best offense in baseball was absolutely stunning. And KC's bullpen was pretty spectacular, too. The general rule is that great pitching will silence great hitting as long as you have adequate offense. The Dodgers were missing that last ingredient against the Mets. The Royals, on the other hand look primed to go the distance.

But this is baseball. And the next couple of games could change everyone's opinion.

Game two this afternoon. Cubs/Mets tonight. They're both pretty great, too.

Can't wait.
