Cassel Named Team's Starter

In a move that surprised no one, the Vikings named Matt Cassel the team's starting QB. If Cassel would get hurt suddenly, Christian Ponder would probably be the team's first back-up. That's why we're still keeping him.

Teddy looks very good so far, but Mike Zimmer and Norv Turner want him to be a little more seasoned before he even comes close to being given the reigns. Unless the Vikes are given something major in trade, it'll stay that way for the foreseeable future.

Speaking of reigns, I learned another interesting trivia fact this week. Roman Reigns, the big new star from the WWE, and former Shield member there, was once a Minnesota Viking. He was signed as an undrafted free agent a few years back. He didn't make the final cut for the regular season roster but much like Brock Lesnar, he was a Viking for  awhile after being a defensive standout at Georgia Tech.
