Number One Florida State

It happened again last night. Number one Florida State was playing unranked Oklahoma State.

Normally the closeness of the score would have kept me watching until the end with the possibility of a major upset at the beginning of the season destroying Heisman winner Winston's chances of another national championship.

Instead I turned it off early and went to bed. IF Florida State would have lost it would have meant nothing in the title hunt.

A full season of sudden-death pressure football is gone, to be replaced by a whole season of meaningless games and meaningless playoffs.

The average fan may not noticed anything has changed.
And that's the saddest thing of all.

I might as well watch soccer.
