Inflate Gate

It's been awhile, but the NFL issued their report on the AFC Championship game scandal yesterday. 250 plus pages of "we THINK this happened..."

When the best the NFL can come up with is, "a couple of New England equipment managers PROBABLY deflated the balls" because of e-mails they had on their phones indicating that Brady preferred softer balls to throw. We already KNEW that. Brady has always said he prefers the lower end inflation rates.  ( I mean for YEARS he's been asking the league about that,,,) The report also said that "Brady was generally aware of the softer balls. "Again that's not much of an indictment for somebody who always requests lower inflation from his equipment guys.

"Probably" and "generally" are words that would probably and generally get you laughed out of court.

There was no specific demonstration on HOW they accomplished this for THAT game. In other words, they are still just guessing. Doing it would have required Mission Impossible-like subterfuge. No one even took a crack at describing how they supposedly did it.

What a waste of time and money.

Commentators saying anything else are idiots.

I think they will see fireworks if they try to get Brady punished over this. Just make sure you figure out a better way of watching and checking game balls from now on. Officials do your job better. Check AND maintain the balls.

That's what I was saying at the very beginning of this mess.
