Wolves Get First Pick

Being inept losers for decades has FINALLY paid off. The T-Wolves literally won the lottery last night that gives them the rights to the best player available in this year's draft. They've never done that before.

What's interesting is that they got last year's number one pick from Cleveland in a trade for Kevin Love. MOST analysts say ONE top pick in ONE year doesn't do much to turn a franchise around, but two in two definitely increases your chances.

The problem with that theory is that you have to pick the BEST guy available, and by all accounts, there doesn't seem to be a consensus number one player this year. I've already seen at least half a dozen players mentioned as the best. On years like this, winning the rights to the first pick becomes a curse IF you pick wrong.

Knowing the Wolves, I can only think that will be the case. The number two player chosen will become the biggest star of all-time. Our choice will be bagging groceries at Whole Foods in two years...

It's a Minnesota sports thing.

You get used to it.

  1. Brad turn you frown upside down. You must think at some point things will turn around for Minnesota teams.
