One Back

The Twins got two in the first from back-to-back doubles with two outs.

That's all Mike Pelfrey needed.

I am amazed.

KC lost to the Yankees again, and the Twins suddenly find themselves a game out of first with a 27-18 record.

It wasn't easy. Perkins was called on in the eighth with the bases full of Red Sox. One pop up later, it was looking pretty good again.

I was reading an article at ESPN yesterday that tried to explain the Twins incredible success this season. Their conclusion? The bullpen has been lights out from the fifth inning on. The Twins have only lost one game this year when they have a lead after the fifth. Perkins 17 for 17 in save chances is just part of the bullpen story, all the relief guys are doing their job.

Go Twins!
