Illegal Activity

Remember last year where a couple high school football players tackled a referee from behind because they were instructed to do so by an assistant coach?

Well now, an NHL player, Dennis Wildman, has been suspended for doing the same thing to an NHL lineman. Watch the video if you can find it.

He should be fired. Charged with assault. And sued by the linesman he assaulted for all he's worth. I've always said that the NHL version of hockey was more thuggery than sport. The NHL can finally prove me wrong by taking a hardline stance against this type of brutal attack.

I don't expect them to, but if they don't, there will be a next time. And the next time these league officials will be without excuse. The linesman who was assaulted by Wildman should include the league officials in his suit. They are responsible for his safety. Suspensions are not enough in this case. Criminal goons should not be allowed on the ice. They should be behind bars.
