The four team play-off is now official. The regular season, beginning in 2014, will be rendered meaningless.
The biggest complaint from fans so far based on ESPN discussion boards was that more teams were not included. Most want 8 and many other want 16 so that all 11 major conferences are included. I can't believe sports fans are so consistently dumb.
I have an idea. Make the regular season matter, that way ALL the teams in the country have a chance at the title. Make the regular season a sudden death play-off where if you lose you are most likely DONE. The team with the best record at the end wins it all!
They had the best championship of all sports and now it's gone. They said the four team tourney will be in place for 12 years. I HOPE that's the case. If they add more teams, none of the games will matter, not even the playoffs, just like college basketball.
