Six out of Seven

I sure wish that the White Sox hadn't gotten hot in the last two weeks. If Cleveland was still the division leader, the Twins could actually be making a legitimate run at first by the All-Star break.

Last night, the pitching wasn't all that good. The bullpen had been flawless for 18 plus innings. The starters (other than Pavano who is now on the disabled list) have been pretty good.

Last night, new starter, Cole Devries gave up 4 runs in a little over 5 innings. The bullpen gave up 3 more later. In the end, however, it was the Twins offense that made the game watchable. The combination of three stolen bases and three homeruns at just the right time gave the Twins a 10-7 victory.

They are still trailing KC in the division, but they are looking more and more like a team worth watching.

Joe Mauer will be missing a few games with a sore thumb, but it's not like he's the center hub of the offense any more, so the Twins might not even notice he's missing. If they can keep hitting, they might just keep winning.
