Better Than the BEST Starting Rotation?

The Twins are going to blow away baseball and its traditions this season. Instead of having the best starting rotation in baseball, I've become aware of a whole new strategy being implemented by Twins General Manager, Terry Ryan. It will be the MOST starting rotation in baseball.

The strategy became clear when I found out the Twins are still pursuing starting pitchers in free agency. Currently they have signed Ricky Nolasco, Kevin Correia, Samuel Deduno, Phil Hughes, Mike Pelfrey, Vance Worley, and Scott Diamond. I USED to think these guys would be fighting for the five rotation spots in spring training.

But I was wrong. This IS going to be our starting rotation.

But wait, there's more!

Alex Meyer and Trevor May, our best two prospects are going to be added to the rotation as well. And so are Matt Garza and Johann Santana once we've signed them.

And there's talk that the Twins are actively pursuing Suk-min Yoon from Korea, the best Asain free-agent this side of Mashahiro Tanaka.

Mexico's hottest free agents are about to signed as well! Misael Siverio and Odrisamer Despaigne were offered huge contracts and are about to sign.

That makes 14 starting pitchers in the rotation for the Twins this season. When best doesn't cut it, you go for most.

I like that strategy. I like it a lot!

Some bullpen and position players will need to be cut to secure a 25 man roster, but progress is progress. And I'm looking forward to the MOST starting rotation in baseball history.

No one else will even be close.
