Refs Decided Game

You know how I'm always complaining that officials determine the outcome of close playoff games? I was right again last night.

Late in the third quarter, the 49er's punter was roughed on a punt. The defenders hit his PLANT leg while attempting to block the kick. The refs, however gave the Seahawks a 5 yard running into the kicker penalty instead. They called it wrong

The penalty should have given the 49ers 15 yards an an automatic first down. Instead the Seahawks got the ball with NO penalty enforced. (The 49ers couldn't re-kick the punt because their punter was hurt. Irony huh?) THAT short drive gave the Seahawks the go ahead touchdown. A proper call would have given the 49ers the ball and good field position. JUST ONE blown ref's call changed the game to Seattle's favor.

The refs strike again. One incorrect call and Seattle's in the Super Bowl instead of the Niners.

Thanks refs.

It's rarely the players. It's nearly alway the refs that determine outcomes in close games. It wasn't the only call that went against the Niners last night, but it's the one that clearly made the difference. More replays should be allowed. The game will take longer, but at least the correct team will win. Isn't that the whole idea behind playing the game?

Something that is EASILY correctable should be corrected. That's been my stance all along, in every sport.
