Brett Anderson

Oakland Ace Brett Anderson took 15 months off  to have Tommy John surgery. He returned last night and was rusty for exactly one inning and then he mowed down the Twins in a A's 4-1 victory.

De Vries was good for the Twins, just not good enough.

The Twins did do something remarkable last night, though. Trevor Plouffe, who has been just plain awful since his return, hit into a rare triple play. I didn't say it was good, just remarkable.

Carl Pavano has been shut down for the rest of the season. He needs complete rest because they finally discovered that his pain was coming from a bruised humorous. The problem is he was actually still  pitching rehab because they thought it was his shoulder. This actually screwed up any chance of his coming back this season. He's probably pitched his last game as a Twin. And Pavano is not happy.
