More Thoughts

This is when it gets difficult to write blog comments again. The Vikings look horrible. At best Ponder is average in an above average division and none of our receivers can catch passes consistently. Joe Webb looked absolutely lost last night while playing with the second team and NONE of the play calling made any real sense.

I know it's preseason, but bad receivers drop passes and bad QBs miss passes. That never changes. It's going to be a long, horrible season.

Watching the Twins was even harder. Last night De Vries was as bad as any pitcher we've had all year. I stopped watching in the second and he was so bad I don't even want to watch today's game.

I'm glad the Olympics are still on. It gave me something else to watch when the local sports teams start performing according to their own miserable standards. The highlight for me last night was the women's 400 relay. ALL FOUR went all out on every step with near flawless exchanges. In the process they won gold and broke a world record that had stood for a long, long time. Usain Bolt, as good as he is, could learn a lot from watching those women. You don't coast in a finals.

  1. I was thinking the same thing about the Vikes. They were horrible last year and they still are this year. It looks like they need a few more players to make the team competitive. QB and receivers would be a good place to build next.
