Hendriks and Willingham

Liam Hendriks, after 17 career starts, FINALLY got his first career win. He hasn't always pitched badly during this streak. It's just that the Twins never scored him any runs when he pitched well.

At 23, he really might have a good career ahead of him. I'm just hoping this is the first of many wins.

The bigger story? For the first time since Harmon Killebrew hit 41 homeruns back in 1970 (42 SEASONS) a Twins has finally hit at least 35 homeruns in a season again. Killebrew hit 41 that year.

Josh Willingham ended with 4 RBI and four hits to go along with that homer.

FORTY-TWO years? FINALLY!

Now I'm waiting to see if Willingham can still hit 40 this season. He still has a shot. And it will keep me watching.

  1. They finally go that powerhitter they were always saying they needed in the late 1970s and early 1980s.
