Vikes Go With Youth

As Super Steve mentioned in his comments on the last post, the Vikes have decided that they want three QBs with basically no experience.

I wouldn't make too much of that just yet. IF the Vikings really want to pick up a veteran QB in a couple of games, half a dozen good ones are just a phone call away, including Sage, who was waived yesterday.

The Vikes are going to live or die the next couple of seasons with Christian Ponder. Joe Webb will be the first sub in, BUT McLeod Bethel Thompson is a very good prospect who might very well be our starter under the right set of circumstances.

The Vikes basically picked Thompson's incredible potential over Sage's experience.

I like the call. It's not like we're going to be Super Bowl contenders this year any way.

The Vikes also said yesterday that Adrian Peterson will be a "game time decision" next week as they open the regular season. That means one of two things. He really isn't ready yet OR they want to fake out next week's opponent. I'm guessing the latter.

He's the only secret weapon they have right now, why not use him in the best way possible?
