HGH and Baseball

Former Dodger closer Eric Gagne says he used HGH (Human Growth Hormone) over five cycles in a three year period late in his career. He also said 80% of his Dodger teammates did the same thing while he was there, BUT he didn't name names.

I'm not saying he's lying, BUT if you are going to implicate players, name them or shut up. Now ALL of those teammates will have a dark cloud over their careers if they did this or not.

On the other hand, as we age as a nation, my guess is MOST Americans will have some kind of HGH therapy going forward. It will make us healthier and stronger as we grow older. The long-term risks of using them will be outweighed by the wonderful long-term benefits.

At some point, these baseball players will be praised as pioneers in the field of better health for everyone.

In the meantime, let's get our torches and pitchforks out and hunt them down and hang them. That's how we always react to these types of things.

My guess is full HGH testing will begin for every pro athlete before long. Most leagues are already working on a plan to implement it.

Up until now, such a plan would be too costly and and inaccurate to use.

Let the witch hunt begin.
