The Timberwolves have had a total of ONE successful coach in their history, Flip Saunders.
He returned to the Wolves a few years back to become one of the team's principle owners.
NOW, he's returning as coach. At least that's the rumor. It will be the first time in NBA history that an owner will also be the head coach.
Realizing that there may not be a better option out there, it's possible that this radical move may entice Kevin Love to stay put as a Minnesota player as Love has a great relationship with Saunders.
The Wolves have made the playoffs eight times in their history. Saunders was the coach in each one of those appearances.
With or without Love, Saunders is a great choice. I hope that Love will see that Saunders is a very good reason to stick around.
