Sometimes you have to rely on everybody. Hughes looked bad in his five innings yesterday, but the bullpen was solid even with Perkins taking a needed day off.
And Joe Mauer had a couple of more hits and a couple of more RBI.
Net Result: The first four-game sweep of the White Sox in 20 years!
The problem is that Detroit is on four game winning streak of their own so we're still FIVE full games back.
Five is do-able, the season isn't quite half over yet, and we're way, way better than I ever thought possible.
Twins start a road trip tomorrow night with the California Angels of Upper and Greater Los Angeles and Lower Annaheim. I'll miss most of those games. These old, tired bones can't take late nights any more.
