GO GO Gomez

Kevin Correia is my least favorite Twins starter. He has his moments, but he rarely has a game that gives you confidence as a longterm starting solution in the Twins rotation.

Case in point: The Twins spotted him a 4-0 lead last night, and it only took one bad pitch to Carlos Gomez to put the Brewers back in it half an inning later. It went downhill from there.

For the season, All-Star Gomez is batting .306 with 12 homeruns and 35 RBI. He just gets better and better. Seeing him run down ball after ball in centerfield with great catch after great catch doesn't make it any easier.

We have Mauer. The Brewers have Gomez.

What I wouldn't give for that to be the other way around.

To make room for Mauer's enormous salary, then Twins were forced to make a lot of stupid decisions.

Getting rid of Gomez was the grand champion of bad decisions.

And Mauer will be a dead weight around the Twins neck for years and years to come, forcing us to continue making bad decisions.
