Hughes Smooth

Phil Hughes was great again yesterday with a season high nine strikeouts and no walks allowed.

The Twins collected a season high 16 hits highlighted by Willingham's 5th homerun in the first that gave the Twins the early lead.

At 31-33 they are still below .500, but with the Tigers on a tailspin and the Twins facing them this weekend, you can't but hope that the possibilities of that 3 1/2 game gap vanishing by Monday with continued good play.

Toronto has good pitching and hitting and just look what we did to them. We we're just one poorly pitched inning away from a sweep at Toronto. Let's hope we're even better in Detroit.

OR not.

These are still our Twins we're talking about.
