Notes

The Twins lost last night. Verlander is very, very good.

The Wild made some major news yesterday. I don't usually report on them but both Zach Parise and Ryan Suter signed 13-year deals with Minnesota. They were the top two free-agents in all of hockey. This is a big deal. How big? I may actually start watching some hockey this season. I can't believe a Minnesota team pulled off something like this.

Former Twin David Ortiz hit his 400th home run yesterday. He never would have reached that milestone in Minnesota. They didn't want him to pull the ball. They always wanted him to just make contact and go the opposite way. Boston let him be himself. Nice.

Steve Nash got traded to the Lakers yesterday. I'm not sure If Nash has much left in the tank, but for this coming season, the Lakers should be a better team.
