Vikings

No real drama yesterday.

Peterson was placed on the Physically Unable to Perform (PUP)  list, but in the NFL that means nothing. They can take him off that list anytime and he's still part of the active roster while on it. They did it as a precaution more than anything else.

Our number one pick, offensive lineman Matt Kalil finally got his contract squared away and was participating with everyone else.

I don't think Brett Favre is going to arrive by helicopter or escort this year so he may very well be retired.

  1. I saw #4 at training camp today but he was no Favre. We spend the afternoon at training camp today. I didn't really see anything significant.
Harvin returning kicks and catching every pass thrown his way. He made a nice diving catch from a deep pass that Webb threw.
Peterson was practicing but not with the team. He was with trainers by himself. He was just running and not making any cuts.
#81 Jerome Simpson looked impressive at first. He can jump super high and looks fast. He did drop a pass that was right in his hands once.
I'm not so sure about Ponder. I can't get past his passes. They have too much of an arc and no power behind them. It it were up to me, I'd go with Webb. But what do I know? I said McNabb was going to be good last year.

  2. Jerome Simpson and Christian Ponder will be the two biggest keys to the season.

One can't catch and the other can't throw.

I'm not real excited about the upcoming season. But at least the Vikings will be in Mankato for three weeks this year. It'll give local folks more time to see the practices.

I'm hoping by the time they finish the new stadium that the Vikings will have a good team again.
