Observations

Mariano Rivera may be done. The best closer of all-time tore his ACL last night in warm-ups. At 42 years of age, he needs some time for surgery, recovery and rehab. He'll be 43 before all of that happens. There just aren't a lot of guys still playing at that age. It looks like he went out with a whimper instead of a bang.

Too bad the Twins aren't in contention this year. We'd FINALLY have a chance at beating the Yankees in post-season.

  1. Injuries are bad enough in themselves but when they happen in a warmup, it's like a billion times worse.
