Twins

With pitcher Matt Maloney designated for assignment and Danny Valencia sent to the minors, you have to wonder if the Twins have enough players in their system to even field a major league ball club.

Chris Parmalee, at first base, has been as bad as Valencia has been at third. The problem is the Twins don't have anyone they can call up to play first to replace him. Morneau, the guy given a huge long-term deal to play that position for us, isn't exactly healthy. He may never be healthy.

The starters have all been worse than nearly anyone could have predicted or even imagined. For all we know,  Matt Capps may be the best closer in baseball right now. The problem is we never have a lead in late innings, so we may never know.

This was the season I saw developing mid-way through last season. I still turn on the TV and see how the Twins are doing every night. I just don't leave it on very long. Even that's becoming a chore.

Buckle up gang. It's going to be a very long and bumpy ride.
