Twins Sweep A's

Minnesota hasn't swept a series at home since last June.

Former A, Josh Willingham, had another tremendous blast yesterday, giving him his 10th HR of the season. He also had three of the four Twin RBI. I'm glad he's on OUR side now.

Burnett and Gray pitched three innings of scoreless relief.

The biggest deal? Liriano returned to the starting rotation and pitched 6 shutout innings, adding 9 K's to his resume in the process. Now Oakland isn't known to be a hitter's ball club, but it was still nice to see Liriano respond since he's got a starting role again. I'm not overly optimistic at this point.( He pitched a no-hitter last year and he really hasn't done much of anything since.) Yesterday was a first step.

We're all still waiting for consistency.

Even with all that being said, Tim Lincecum, the San Francisco Giant who is considered one of the absolute best pitchers in baseball, is having an awful season so far, too. Maybe it's just a matter of time before BOTH return to form. I'm including his stats for comparison.
