Twins Sign Rich Hardin

This would have been a big deal 5 years ago. Hardin has been one of the best strikeout pitchers in baseball over the years. He's also been the ace of the A's staff.

So what's different? He's coming back from rotator cuff surgery and he hasn't pitched very well since he hurt his shoulder 4 years ago.

IF he fully recovers (there's a 50/50 chance, this surgery has WORSE odds than Tommy John surgery) he could be a Cy Young Award winner. At 31, he's young enough to still have a brilliant career.

The Twins are just busy collecting arms at this point. Of all the acquisitions we've made this offseason, I like this better than all except Vance Worley. IF both come back strong, Diamaond will be our THIRD starter, and that's actually a very good thing.

Healthy, Worley, Hardin, and Diamond, would be a pretty formidable trio of starters.

Like everyone else, we'll just have to see if any of these new guys pay off.
